he state of rock and roll is a hot topic as 2024 draws to an end and, while
Tsome would suggest it's not in a great position, there is much evidence to
the contrary. With a raft of new bands begging for your attention and established
acts fighting to keep it, this leads to packed playlists and gig schedules. Among
the new contenders to this scrum are The Rattlebacks, who have followed up last
year's debut EP, 'Kink', with their debut full-length album, 'Sidewinder', and, in
doing so, have sounded out their intentions loud and clear. They rock just as hard
as anyone else on the scene, but do it without the cliches and stereotypes which
so many are saddled with. Instead, their music and lyrics delve into subject matter
which is much more emotional than many would dare to be. And the result is a
superb collection of songs which will not only have you banging your head, but
giving the content much thought after you have switched off.

THE RATTLEBACKS
