But any fears that tonight is going to be a nostalgia show are quickly quashed as they follow this up with 'Blood Brother', the first track we are
treated to from the new album and it's embraced just as warmly by those on hand as the band were when they joined us. Given the new album was
only released a few days before this show, and the tour actually started the day before it dropped, you'd understand them for sticking to their more
tried and tested material. But absolutely not, as this is the first of eight new songs on show, making up just over half of their set.
And, as great as established favourites 'Tonight', 'Under The Sky', 'Nowhere Freeway', 'Spectacular' and 'Come Follow Me' are, their new material
is just as good, '’Sundowners', 'California Rust', 'All Together' and 'Always Alright' being the highlights. Cormac Neeson and a stage in front of rock
fans are a perfect match as he struts and jives his way through every song, and his enthusiasm seemingly grows and grows as the night progresses,
while guitarist Paul Mahon and bassist Micky Waters work in perfect harmony, their contributions to the new songs showing that they are even better
now than they were when the band stepped away, while James Heatley, not very quietly, goes about his business on the drums and is a joy to watch
for anyone who can avert their gaze away from his bandmates for long enough.
