Before ‘Better Off Dead’, Kellin gives a poignant speech about the power of music and how it
can make you feel better from the power of songs. “The one thing that I love about music the most
is that it brings all of us together,” he states. “This is proof right here.” He adds, “All that matters is
all of us, right here, right now,” and “I wouldn’t be where I am right now if it wasn’t for you guys.” He
tells the crowd, “If you’re feeling low, let this be your anthem. You’ll be feeling better afterwards.”
And he’s right. Everyone sings along to ‘Better Off Dead’, and suddenly, yes, everything feels much,
much better.
Kellin and guitarist Nick Martin perform a couple of acoustic songs, while their bandmates leave
the stage. Kellin talks about having had an ego when he mentions ‘Scene Five: With Ears To See
And Eyes To Hear’, while we’re gifted an inspiring cover of Goo Goo Dolls’ ‘Iris’ that goes down a
treat. Kellin also makes it off the stage and greets those in the front row in this acoustic segment.
