ince forming Fozzy in 1999, the members of the band, most notably founding members lead guitarist Rich
SWard and vocalist Chris Jericho, have been fuelled by passion and drive. Their conviction to the band,
and music as a whole, is inspiring, as their dedication and hard work has continued to flourish, bringing with it suc-
cess and the ability to continue performing in front of larger and larger audiences. Even after lockdown, they were
one of the first international bands to cross the sea and tour the UK, barely taking their foot off the gas. And, while
their 8th full-length album, ‘Boombox’, has just been released, their previous, 2017-released album ‘Judas’ has now
been awarded gold certification – proof that hard work brings just rewards. Black Velvet spoke to Rich Ward
about escapism, putting smiles on faces, how kindness is contagious and becoming a better person.
