when he’s on stage performing. “I get to let
pieces of me free on that stage. There isn't
one part of me that doesn't get spilled up
there. I'm probably less abrasive in life
other than onstage, that's for sure. Wilson
has truly allowed me to save myself from
myself. It allots me the privilege to get out
all the demons under my skin so I can be
the best person I can be,” Chad tells us.
The band have one goal and one goal
alone when it comes to their audience.
”Giving them the time of their lives for our
time given on that stage. The live show and
the community within the walls of that
venue for that night is all that matters to
us.”
Wilson savour life on the road - but
they’re not always on the road per se -
sometimes they’re on water! The band
have performed on a number of cruises, in-
cluding this year’s ShipRocked Cruise. The
ShipRocked Cruise took place on Super-
bowl weekend, thus music fans watched
the Superbowl in between bands. Wilson
were due on stage at half-time though, so
the band came on stage with Chad march-
ing band-style with a drum strapped
around himself. Black Velvet asks Chad
how he’d feel if Wilson ever got the chance
to play the real Superbowl. “I'd probably lit-
erally shit myself,” he answers, “which
would be very bad for a guy like me, cause
I'd most likely GG Allin myself if it hap-
pened!”
There's a track on 'Right To Rise' titled
'Crave’, which according to Chad is “about
a serial killer and the carnal urge to soothe
that inner feeling of being complete”. So we
end by asking what Wilson crave as a band.
“We crave energy as a band. We crave that
smile in the front row staring back at you...
we crave that feeling of people truly enjoy-
ing themselves. Once again, this is life, it's
too short not to kick its fucking ass!”
