The encore sees the band return to the stage in dressing gowns and slippers for ‘I Love You 5 Times’, which sees Frankie, Dan and Rufus switch
things up by swapping instruments, with Rufus playing bass, Frankie playing guitar and Dan on drums, and final number, ‘Love On The Rocks With
No Ice’, in which Justin is taken out into the crowd on the shoulders of a crew member, going from one side of the audience, all the way through the
middle, to the other side. It’s a top class, super-fun night from start to finish, with ‘Permission To Land’ sounding as good, if not better, now than it did
back when it was first released. Like fine wine, The Darkness are getting better with age, and, like cheese, they may have matured but they’re still as
tangy and tasty as they always have been.
