From The Heart

f you are a regular gig-goer, you may recognise the name The Fallen State. Since
Iforming in Devon back in 2013, the five-piece have travelled up and down the
country in order to build a fanbase and find their feet. The band has been fortunate
enough to share stages with the likes of Black Stone Cherry, Halestorm, 3 Doors
Down and, more recently, Pop Evil. In April, they dropped their debut album, ‘A
Deadset Endeavour’. On it, they have opened up about their time in the music in-
dustry. When Black Velvet spoke to lead singer Benjamin Stenning following the
album’s release, he told us The Fallen State exists today solely because of their love
of music and performing live. Ben also reveals that when they are writing songs,
the band no longer try and hide behind metaphors; this time it’s coming straight
from the heart. As a result, Ben, guitarists Jon Price and Dan Oke, bassist Greg Butler
and drummer Rich Walker are feeling more creative and more open than ever.
