                It may have been raining all day, but that did not stop the massive queues from forming for With Confidence as they prepare to take on London.
              Fans huddle under shared umbrellas, eagerly waiting to see the Australian pop-punk trio, and once inside, there’s a tangible buzz in the air as excited
              chatter fills the air inside the venue.
                Opening up the evening is London duo Anavae, formed of Rebecca Need-Menear and Jamie Finch. On this particular occasion, they bring a drum-
              mer with them, temporarily playing as a trio for the night. As the lights dim to mark the start of the evening, loud cheers fill the room as Rebecca and
              Jamie take their places on stage, facing each other in a way that bears resemblance to a stand-off. Striking the drums that are placed in front of them,
              it was a dramatic beginning to the evening as the lighting matches the thunderous sounds circling around the room. Throughout their set, Rebecca’s
              powerful voice soars over the crowd, especially during tracks such as the thrilling ‘All Or Nothing’ and the impassioned ‘Are We Alone?’
                                                                                             It’s  everyone’s  first  time  seeing
                                                                                          Canadian pop-punkers Story Untold in
                                                                                          London this evening, and it appears that
                                                                                          many fans have waited a long time for
                                                                                          this moment as they crowd around the
                                                                                          barrier,  eager  to  get  a  good  spot  to
                                                                                          watch  their  set.  Holding  flowers  and
                                                                                          flags, the band has built up a dedicated
                                                                                          fanbase and this can be reflected in the
                                                                                          loud singalongs throughout their set. Be-
                                                                                          ginning with ‘In Or Out’, the energetic
                                                                                          mood of the song persists for the rest of
                                                                                          the evening as both the band and fans
                                                                                          jump  around.  Meanwhile,  the  band’s
                                                                                          pop-punk  medley  garners  one  of  the
                                                                                          loudest singalongs of the evening, as
                                                                                          they cover a plethora of emo classics
                                                                                          plucked from the discographies of Fall
                                                                                          Out Boy, All Time Low, Sleeping With
                                                                                          Sirens and the likes. Janick Thibault ex-
                                                                                          presses the band’s amazement at being
                                                                                          in London, saying, “This is so fucking
                                                                                          cool.  I’m  just  like,  fascinated,  just  by
                                                                                          hearing you guys talk. It’s amazing” be-
                                                                                          fore  jumping  into  ‘Matches  In  The
                                                                                          Ocean’, and finally the catchy ‘Delete’ to
                                                                                          round off a blood-pumping set.
                                                                                             As the first chords of ‘That Some-
                                                                                          thing’ hit the room, it’s the beginning of
                                                                                          an energetic set by With Confidence as
                                                                                          the first crowdsurfers start coming over
                                                                                          the barrier. Their new record ‘Love And
                                                                                          Loathing’ certainly translates well live,
                                                                                          with  fans  screaming  back  every  word
                                                                                          with as much zest as the band delivers
                                                                                          them.  Continuing  with  ‘Keeper’,  it’s  a
                                                                                          passionate  performance  as  the  song
                                                                                          tackles themes of not being ok, and with
                                                                                          electrifying  guitar  work  and  a  pum-
                                                                                          melling drum backbone, you’ll be sure to
                                                                                          feel all of the emotion flowing through
                                                                                          your veins. Delivering a diverse set of
                                                                                          songs, the band treat us from material
                                                                                          from their second EP in the form of the
                                                                                          heart-tugging ‘Godzilla’ through to mul-
                                                                                          tiple tracks off ‘Love And Loathing’, cre-
                                                                                          ating a wide mix of music for the fans to
                                                                                          enjoy. As  the  last  notes  of  ‘Here  For
                                                                                          Nothing’ fade away, the band strip back
                                                                                          the pace to deliver an acoustic set for
                                                                                          the poignant ‘Long Night’, and it’s a ten-
                                                                                          der moment as phone flashlights alight
                                                                                          the  room  around  Jayden  and  his
                                                                                          acoustic  guitar.  Following  with  ‘Pâ-
                                                                                          querette’, you can feel your heart mend-
                                                                                          ing itself as the band pour their heart
                                                                                          and  soul  into  an  acoustic  hybrid
                                                                                          arrangement of the track, and as a hazy
                                                                                          pink lighting settles over the room, it per-
                                                                                          fectly matches the mood of the track.
                                                                                          Encoring with ‘Voldemort’ and ‘Icarus’, it
                                                                                          leaves the night on a high, and we have
                                                                                          no doubt that it’s all better weather from
                                                                                          here onwards.
