“Between the two of us, we have three
kids,” says Janet. “Justin has two, I have
one, so we’re one big happy family, and
yeah, we have concerns about a lot of
things going on and what kind of world
are we leaving to our kids and our grand-
kids. There was the Sandy Hook incident,
which was kind of an infamous thing
where a disturbed young adult went into
an elementary school and mowed down a
classroom full of first graders. That was
about ten miles from where my son goes
to school, so that affected me very, very
deeply. So that’s what the line about
‘mowing down kids in the classroom,
where did he get that kinda gun’ is about.
Some laws did change a little bit in the
state of Connecticut, but on a national
level in the United States it really hasn’t
changed much. I don’t know what it’s
going to take to keep our kids safe. That’s
a major concern for me.”
With the Ariana Grande Manchester
bombing still fresh in our minds, and ob-
viously the Paris Bataclan shooting a cou-
ple of years ago, we ask if they worry
about security at concerts.
“You can’t live your life in fear, you
have to live your life,” says Janet. “You
have to do what you need to do, but yeah,
at the same time you have to make sure
that you and your fans are safe. So I
wouldn’t be surprised if there’s extra se-
curity measures at major concerts and I
guess if that’s what you’ve got to do… It’s
sad that that’s what you’ve got to do, but
if that’s what it takes, then they’d better
do it.”
If you go to Janet’s website or Face-
book page, you’ll notice references to
‘Planet Janet’. We ask if they could start
their own new planet, how it would be.
Janet replies, “Planet Janet would ob-
viously be a very fun place with lots of
great music, people expressing them-
selves freely, everyone is safe and
happy!”
“All smiles,” adds Justin.
“It’s a fantasy land,” says Janet.

ne fantasy we have now is for
OJanet, Justin and their band to
come and tour Europe and in particular,
the UK. We would definitely be all smiles
then. On the subject of shows, Janet says
their goal is to get all over the world,
“We’ve got a great agent that we’ve
started working with.
“We will definitely make it to the UK,
one way or the other. Our agent is looking
at all possibilities. He’s looking at pack-
ages with other bands, opening for some-
one or headlining and getting other bands
on with us. One way or the other we’re
coming to the UK.”

your fingers crossed that she announces

that fantasy turns into reality.
