t’s tough being in a rock band these
Idays, but James Toseland and his
band are giving it all that they’ve got.
               With Toseland’s second album, ‘Cradle
The Rage’, having just been released, for-
               mer motorcycle champion James tells
Black Velvet about all the hard work he
and his bandmates have put into making
               the band a success.

ince having to abandon his mo-
Storcycling career in 2011 after a
bad accident, James has gone full
speed ahead with his love of music, fo-
cusing on making it his career. James
tells Black Velvet of the sacrifices he’s
made so far for the band. “I’ve given
everything; all my time, dedication and
finances. It’s been my baby, really.”
James had previously been in a
band called Crash, although it was using
his own surname that saw James hook
up with Toby Jepson of Little Angels. “I
went to Scarborough for eight months
and checked into a hotel and just wrote
songs with Toby Jepson in his studio and
I didn’t leave Scarborough until I had my
first album to get things going and then I
put the band around it once I had the
                          music.”
James found members for his band
and a team around him to work on the
album and the band. “From that point
on, it’s been nonstop for nearly five
years now; nonstop dedication to build-
ing the band to where we’ve got to now.”
                             Now, Toseland have just released
their second album (it went into the UK
Rock Charts at No. 4), and James went
to work with Toby Jepson on it again. “It
was eight months again writing ‘Cradle
                          The Rage’,” says James.
The album sees James and Toby
