Before the empowering ‘Stand My Ground’, Sharon says
to the crowd, “There are so many crazy things happening in
this world right now. I just heard about what happened in
Poland tonight.” She mentions the Russians too, adding “but I
also think we should stand up for what our values are, and no-
body should come into your country.” This is one of the reasons
we love Sharon and Within Temptation. She stands up for
what’s right. For ‘Angels’, Sharon heads up into what would be
the clouds, above her bandmates, high in the sky. The back-
drop is like a sparkly sky.

Before ‘Raise Your Banner’,
Sharon tells the crowd, “If your
country was invaded, would you
defend it?” She dedicates the
song to Ukraine and waves a
large Ukranian flag around. The
epic song includes excellent
guitar work from Stefan Helle-
blad and Ruud Jolie. There’s a
change of sound for ‘Entertain
You’. Sharon stops the song
when she notices an incident in
the crowd, asking for security to
go in to help someone. Once
the person has been helped,
she signals for the song to be
restarted.
There's a poignant moment
when Sharon tells the crowd
she wrote a song four years ago
which she hoped would help
with the passing of her dad. ‘Su-
pernova’ is for Sharon’s dad –
as well as anyone else who can
relate.
