Halestorm – An Evening With… - Birmingham O2 Academy, 02.03.22
One of the last bands we
saw in 2019, a few months
before the coronavirus pan-
demic took over the world in
early 2020, was Halestorm,
and one of the first bands
from the USA to cross the
ocean for a UK tour following
the pandemic, was also
Halestorm – proof itself that
this four-piece from Pennsyl-
vania (now living in
Nashville) are hard workers
who live to play music.
Although we knew this
already, as the four members
have been a band for 25
years, growing the unit from
a local Red Lion, PA band, to
a successful international,
Grammy-award-winning
band. Seeing their hard work
ethics and consequent rise to
fame is nothing short of in-
spiring.
And this ‘An Evening
With Halestorm’ is the perfect
motivation to get out of your
comfy armchair and into a
gig venue again.
There’s no need for a
support act, as Halestorm
can sell these venues out on
their own, but their ‘An
Evening With…’ gives UK
fans something different – a
double dose of the band
they’ve come to see. We get
a nine-song acoustic set,
which sees vocalist/guitarist
Lzzy Hale sat down on a sofa
with guitarist Joe Hottinger
(and drummer Arejay Hale
and bassist Josh Smith in
their respective places) – be-
fore a full-on 15-song electric
show.
